Conscious Sedation
Intravenous Sedation
Intravenous sedation is a well established technique which has been used in Dentistry for many years. You receive the sedative drug through a vein, so it goes to work more quickly. This method allows the anaesthetist to continually adjust the level of sedation.
Sedation is usually used for minor oral surgery procedures such as wisdom tooth surgery, dental implant surgery and All on 4 surgery. Sometimes nervous patients tend to ask for this when they are undergoing more complex dental treatment. IV Sedation is suitable for most patients.
Intravenous sedation is done at our clinic by specialist anaesthetists, who support our nervous or anxious patients. This is a routine service at The Braces & Dental Implant Centre, so we are all well trained to handle you for your comfort and well being.
You will be asked to fast 6 hours prior to surgery and arrive half an hour before your appointment.
